I think I'm learning as I continue to make my stay at home mom routine that twice a week posting on the blog of my updates on stitching is a good schedule for me - once going into the weekend, and once after the weekend! I definitely don't feel the pressure to post daily like I once did especially if I don't stitch everyday, and it's fun to see how far I come along in a piece over several days!
Rapunzel has stayed in my hoop this week. Don't see her being switched out anytime soon, I'm just in love with this piece, though I will admit as I am starting to visit other blogs again I have several WIP's that are starting to call my name again. So we will just have to wait and see how long she keeps my interest!
Here is Rapunzel's progress for the week:
The skin 1x1 went very smoothly and I love the way it looks on her! I don't do any backstitching until all crosses are done, but she definitely has a face now!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!
Until next time!

Just A Quick Update
Some more progress was made on Rapunzel over the weekend! She's still going strong, I'm loving her! I'm currently working on her skin, 1x1, and I'm loving the effect!

This Week's Progress
So I haven't been able to put Rapunzel down this week and I've made lots of progress! I love this piece, it's absolutely gotten my stitching bug going again, and it's been a blast!
I definitely plan on continuing to work on this piece for awhile. It's going so quick for me and I adore the colors and the fabric (28 ct. Jobelan in Isolde from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie).
I am going to work on finishing the dress on this page of the pattern and then start working on the skin. All the rest of the piece is done 2 over 2, but I'm going to try to do the skin 1 over 1 for a smoother effect. We'll see how it goes!
Until next time!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel...
...Let down your golden hair!
As of the December 31st, I left my full time job and have been working these past couple of weeks on adjusting to life as a stay at home mom. It's been an adjustment to be sure, but I think we're starting to settle in on a routine, which is a wonderful thing! It's a huge blessing and I'm so very happy to be on this adventure with my kids!
Now that I'm a bit more settled and not as insanely frantic in the evenings, I've decided to finally pick up stitching again. I've missed it, very much so, but life for quite awhile just wasn't letting me get to it. I've decided I'm not going to have a formal rotation process for now, I'm just going to work on what I want to work on, however long I may want to work on it, and rotate when something else strikes my fancy. I am making a hard and fast rule, though, that there will be no new starts until I finish one of my many WIP's. Doesn't mean I won't keep collecting stash though! (My fabric collection is MASSIVE by now!)
In that mindset, I picked up Rapunzel by Joan Elliott this weekend to start working on her again. It's been almost a year since I had last worked on her, and this is where she was when I last touched her:
I worked on her Friday and got to this point:
And then yesterday I got to here:
She's being stitched on 28 ct. Jobelan in Isolde from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie and I'm absolutely loving stitching on her! More to come as I make more progress!
Happy stitching!
Until next time!
