Vacation Update

Well, I'm back from vacation! We had a wonderful week long vacation in Colorado! We went to Denver first, then Boulder so hubby could do the Ironman (he finished! Yay!), and then finished the trip in Breckenridge. We did so many things and had so much fun, it was a really great time, though I'm glad to be home!

I did complete a lot of stitching during my vacation, though. I did have two finishes, one the night before my vacation, one on the way to the airport on our last day!

Wine Glass by Mill Hill
Started: 5/15/15
Finished: 7/28/15

All Things Noah by Dimensions
Started: Sometime before 2001
Finished: 8/5/15

All Things Noah was my oldest WIP and my first project for Alphabet ABC's for Stitch Maynia this month! I'm so excited to have it done!

I also worked on several other pieces this week!

Spirit of Cross Stitch Angel by Brooke's Books:

St. Peter's from John Clayton International:

Stardust Fairy by Joan Elliott:

Stitching ABC's from Design Works:

Storytime Sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery (OMG Phantom of the Opera! LOVE!!):

Walking Through The Stars Zodiac Sampler from Cloudsfactory:

Lots of great progress, lots of fun, but now it's time to get back to the real world!

Until next time~

All Things Noah

Wow, I'm back to the top of the rotation at last! I know I may have skipped a few a the end between working on the OUAT Sampler in April and all my Stitch Maynia starts, but I couldn't remember where I left off so starting at the beginning again seemed best!

All Things Noah by Dimensions was on tap for yesterday.

And here is where I got to yesterday:

I really wanted to try to finish this piece yesterday but I had a bit too much to do versus what I remembered having. One more good day on this though, two at absolute most, and I should have it done! We'll see what happens when it's next up on the rotation!

Until next time!

All Things Noah

We're at the top of the rotation list again with All Things Noah (which I keep wanting to call All About Noah for some reason. Can't tell you how many times I've had to correct that!)

I brought the piece with me when I brought our kids to an indoor playground place to play yesterday. It was my first time to really bring a project to a place like that and let me tell you, it helped me stay sane and made the time go by much faster. I may have to continue to do that this summer when we go to the playground regularly!

I got into a good groove and made a lot of progress yesterday:

I think one or two more good dedicated days to this piece and I'll be able to mark it off as finished! I must admit, I was tempted to just keep working on this until it's done because it really is so close, but the OCD part of me won out, so we will just have to wait until this comes back up in the rotation. I can hardly wait!

Until next time!

All Things Noah

Yesterday I started back at the top of my rotation list with All Things Noah!

I have to admit, it's nice to have gone completely through my (original) rotation and to be back at the start again! I have two pieces that will be new starts when I go through the rotation this time around, but when I picked this up yesterday, it really did make me glad I do a daily rotation because it wasn't too long since I had last worked on this piece and I was able to make some great progress on it yesterday!

I finished outlining the giraffe motif, did the entire turtle motif and then did all of the half stitching for the banner on the bottom of the piece. All that is left in this piece are the top and bottom banners and then the border around the entire piece. I definitely think it's feasible that I will finish stitching this piece this year!

Kids are off school today, it's grey and cold and icky outside, and I'm not feeling super great, so it may just be a day of movies and stitching ahead. Sounds like a plan to me!

Until next time!

Noah, Story Time, and IHSW

Lots to update about this morning!

First, I got impatient waiting for Story Time to come out yesterday afternoon so when I had some time, I did a little bit more on All Things Noah:

Now, it's really been put away for the rotation because Story Time Sampler came out!! So excited! I am utterly in love with the frames in this piece. The release included the twelve frames, the banner and January's frame, which is Alice in Wonderland! I am stitching all of the frames first starting from the center of the piece. Here is where I got yesterday:

I am stitching this on 28-count Jobelan in Melody from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie using flosses from Mo's Sale once more. It seems to be a habit for me with The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery pieces!

It's also International Hermit and Stitch Weekend! Guess what I'll be working on this weekend!

Until next time!

All Things Noah

The Story Time Sampler doesn't come out until 5 PM PST (I'm in Central), so I had a little bit of time this morning between dropping off and picking up my son at Pre-K to pull out All Things Noah to start my rotation schedule.

Now, I honestly don't remember when I bought this piece or why. I think I intended it as a gift at some point, and I know I worked on it in college and stopped working on it when I got engaged in 2001 and had lots of wedding gifts to stitch. And I know I've grown as a stitcher since I worked on this since the threads aren't organized in any cohesive way (let's play find the thread and compare to the piece!) and my half stitches don't face the "right" way, but it's an adorable piece so I'm not going to give up on it yet.

I worked on the giraffe motif today:

The half stitches in the background are hard to see. I had to frog several times to force myself to do the half stitches in the "wrong" direction because they had already been done behind the lion and I want to keep it consistent, even if "wrong".

Put this away for now! I have some things I have to do around the house before Story Time comes out, and that will then be in my hoop until I get that installment done. Can't wait!

Until next time!
