Sorry for going quiet for a couple of days! Saturday and Sunday were both very busy days and I just didn't get a chance to post! I didn't get a chance to stitch much either, but I did work on Italian Vista from the Dimensions Gold Collection yesterday:
Here is where I got to yesterday:
I just added some more stitches tot he reflection in the lake. Slowly but surely it's coming along!
Until next time!

Flames of Desire
Happy Independence Day, everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend!
It has been a very long time since Flames of Desire came up in the rotation, between the A to Z challenge, all of my Stitch Maynia starts, and it's over all position in the alphabet! But it was definitely nice to get back to it yesterday.
If you may recall, I restarted this piece this year and changed the fabric to 32 Belfast in Mayan Apocalypse by Under The Sea Fabrics, switched from two over one full cross to one over one tent stitch, and started in the middle this time rather than at the wingtip. Here is where I stopped yesterday:
I know it's a powerful fabric and I know it's hard to envision now, but trust me when I say that red won't get lost in the fabric when it's all said and done. It's going to be a gorgeous firey background and I can't wait to have it finished, even if that day is a LONG way off!
Until next time!

Walking Through The Stars Zodiac Sampler - Cancer
Yesterday I finished up the latest installment of the Walking Through The Stars Zodiac Sampler. This month, the sign was Cancer:
I really do love this piece. I'm stitching it on 32 Belfast in Black Magic from Under The Sea Fabrics and every month, I'm more and more pleased with the fabric I chose!
As always, this month's installment came with some interesting information about Cancers. I'm curious how accurate you all may find it:
Cancer - June 21 - July 20
I just love the little crab! He's so adorable! Here is the full piece to date so far:

Cancer - "the Crab" (Karkinos in Greek, Cancer in Latin).
Cancer begins family time, and beginning of longer days for making memories. Cancer is a homebody, and has a primal need for security on the home front. But the Crab is also ambitious, like other cardinal signs, and is often tenacious when moving toward its goal.
They move indirectly, sensing the undercurrents, and developing strong ties of loyalty among friends and co-workers.
At the extreme edges, Cancer is neurotic, self-absorbed, manipulative, clingy and bogged down in emotional swamps.
Cancer is gifted with a rare sense of timing, which helps in business and love. Some come off as aloof, but are registering everything. A wounded Cancer can be cruel and rejecting -- becoming what they fear the most. Many have crazy close ties with 'Mother' which translates to a lifelong challenge to become emotionally self-sustaining. Cancer's have big hearts and many are artists, putting great emotional force in whatever they do.
Constellation: Cancer, the Crab
Element: Water
Ruling Planet: Moon
Stone: Ruby
Metal: Silver
Phrase: “I feel”
Colors: blues, moonlight hues (pearl, silvery, soft gray, cream, milky white), aquamarine Animals: bears, kangaroos, opossum. Home-carrying types like turtles and snails. Water creatures like the playful otter, shellfish, crabs, lobsters
Birth Flowers: White flowers, especially white roses and cotton flower. Included among Cancer's collection are: Bear's breeches, Morning glories, Geraniums, Lilies, Water lilies, Cabbages, Lotus, Verbena, Southern magnolias, Cow parsley.
Until next time!

WIPocalypse 2015 - July Edition Part One
July is special this year in that there are two full moons and thus two WIPocalypse reports this month! Yay!
For the first report in July, Measi asked us the following question:
I think anyone who has been following my blog for awhile knows that I love fantasy and I love figures. Fairies are a big favorite of mine, but I also love nearly all fantasy creatures, stories, fairy tales, light and whimsical type patterns. I have definitely have more figures in my rotation than abstract pieces, but there are some landscapes and such as well!
Here are the nitty gritty details for my first WIPocalypse Report for July2015

Frosted Pumpkin Filled Day
I cannot believe it's July 1st! Where has this year gone?? Ugh!!
Yesterday was a very Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery themed day with not one, but two pieces worked on designed by them! The first was the Fibery Friends Sampler.
Unlike nearly every other Frosted Pumpkin piece I've done, I've kept the called for DMC threads for this piece, and this is where I stopped yesterday:
My son got a grand kick out of the idea that a sheep was wearing a sweater! I'm stitching this on 28 Jobelan in Tempest from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.
Yesterday also saw the release of the July portion of the Story Time Sampler - Lady of Shalott. I really wish the Pumpkins would release a sampler entirely of Arthurian legend stories. I think that would be awesome! As always, I finished the frame in one (very late) night. Here is the individual frame:
And here is the piece as a whole so far:
Though this may not be my favorite of all of the stories released so far, I do have to say I love this frame the most (and my daughter has a My Little Pony castle in the same pinks and purples as this frame has! Ha!). I'm stitching this on 28 Jobelan in Melody from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.
Today starts the W(h)ine and WIPs SAL for Stitch Maynia, tomorrow is the WIPocalypse report, lots to do the next do!
Until next time!
