Stitching ABC's

Yesterday I had a tough time dealing with the exhaustion that comes up sometimes with PMDD, but I finally got some energy late in the day and worked on Stitching ABC's!

This center panel is by far the largest panel in the entire piece. I don't think it's going to be the most difficult by any stretch if what I see in the details of other panels is any indication, but it's definitely the biggest. I was able to add some more color to it last night and here is where I stopped:

This is also a piece that will benefit greatly from back stitching. I've decided that I will do all back stitching for a panel before I move onto the next panel. There's just way too much in the entire piece to leave it until the end!

Until next time!

St. Peter's

How's this for Texas weather? Yesterday my children were bundled up to go run around in the five inches of snow in the backyard. Today, I wore a t-shirt outside while running around to pick up the kids from school. Gotta love the bipolar nature of Texas weather!

Last night I put a few stitches into St. Peter's.

I wasn't able to sit down and stitch until late, so I didn't get much in, but I did work in enough stitches to cover the full width of the piece now.

Though really, this isn't that wide of a piece!

Today was the last day of school before Spring Break, and my kids already have a list of things they want to do while they're off school for the next nine days. I'm exhausted already thinking about it, but one of the items on the list is rearranging my daughter's room so I can take some of the things stored in my craft room and move them to her room, like a desk, some art supplies, etc. This will move me one step closer to getting my craft room cleared out so I can build it exactly as I want! I've been doing lots of exploring on Pinterest for ideas on how to set up the room, including storage for floss, fabric, beads and more. I really am excited to get this room of mine done. It'll be the first time I've had a room that I can call completely and solely "mine" since I started sharing my bedroom when I was seven years old, and I'll be 35 in May! That's a long time!

Until next time!

Skater's Village Tree Skirt

Five inches of snow! That's what I had in my backyard yesterday, and the kids loved it! It made the piece I worked on yesterday all the more appropriate - Skater's Village Tree Skirt!

Here is where I was able to get to yesterday:

I love this piece, but it is definitely one of my least favorites to actually work on just because of the sheer size of it. It can definitely be difficult to handle at times - if I was ever going to invest in buying a frame to use for stitching, this would be the piece that would inspire me to do so. But I keep plugging away because it's going to be so worth it in the end!

Until next time!

WIPocalypse 2015 - March Edition

It's time for this month's WIPocalypse report! Is it just me, or is 2015 going by really fast? I think I feel that way for a lot of reasons, but stitching on something new every day seems to fuel that even more, especially when I look at my progress!

This month, Measi is asking us the following question:

If money - and time - were not limiters, what projects would be on your stitching bucket list?

This is a tough one! I have a ton of patterns and projects in my stash that I already own and an alarming wish list of projects to buy someday. Everything from HAED's and Tilton Crafts, to Joan Elliott and Mirabilia, to Châtelaine and Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, to Wee Little Stitches and Cloudsfactory, and everything in between. I think I'd just stitch everything I could, whatever struck my fancy, and my stash would be enormous and filled with fabric and beads and threads and more...I get happy just thinking about it. Heh.

Here are the nitty gritty details for my WIPocalypse Report for March 2015!

Mediterranean Flavors

Yesterday I got back into my normal rotation and picked up Mediterranean Flavors

I was not able to get as much done as I wanted to because of a very needy four year old who couldn't fall asleep and then my own exhaustion taking over when he finally did, but I did make some progress!

Sorry for the shadow at the bottom of the picture! I really do like the pink of the grapes I was able to work on yesterday. It's such a lovely color!

Tomorrow is the WIPocalypse report for the month, and I have one more piece to work on tonight and I will have touched all of my WIP's! Yay! We're also scheduled to have thundersleet and thundersnow (yes, thunder should be before both of those words) this afternoon/evening. I've hit the grocery store so we are stocked but I'm predicting the kids and hubby will be home tomorrow! We'll see what happens!

Until next time!
