We Have A Face!

First, thank you everyone for your kind words about my turning in my notice. I told my boss and our lead coordinator today. The rest of the team will be told tomorrow. Both of them handled it well, but are clearly panicking...which I expected, but it is what it is.

I made a lot of progress on Tribal Penguin tonight! I'm playing with Instagram for my pictures, and here's my first 'test' subject...
We have a face!
As you can see, we made it to the face tonight and I started working on the white belly. I'm thinking I may need to outline the white because it's hard to see against the fabric, even close up when I have it in hand. I'll make a decision when I have more of the white completed, but would like to hear your thoughts as well!

Until next time!

  1. He is looking very nice. Maybe you could try outlining just the outside of his tummy for some definition:)

  2. He's looking really cute, but does need some definition I think. How about just a single row of a dark grey along the outside of each of the "motifs" that make up the edge. Then it's not a hard line of backstitch which I don't think would look right?

  3. I agree with Sharine and Sandie. You could outline the front of his belly. Or start over on the white and use a light silvery gray instead?

  4. Looks amazing, I see what you mean about the white belly though

  5. You are moving along amazingly quick. I think SoCal Debbie has a great idea, to use a light silvery gray for the tummy.

  6. Great progress on the penguin Katy. I would either outline his tummy or start over with a little darker color of floss.

  9. Too many posts to comment on them all!

Love your penguin (I've seen the finished one too).

I had to laugh at your panicking boss, they really don't appreciate people until they leave do they? Mine was exactly the same.
